Smith Uren emerged on the New Zealand textile scene in 1965 as an agent for Itochu Corporation of Japan.

Smith Uren emerged on the New Zealand textile scene in 1965 as an agent for Itochu Corporation of Japan. Founded by Stuart Smith, the company grew quickly from a fabric agency into a multi-national trading company that now comprises of Zedtex and Reatex. Over 5 decades Zedtex and Reatex have built long term strategic partnerships in Asia, Europe, USA and Africa.

More than 50 years of international trade has seen Zedtex and Reatex develop sophisticated trade and logistics systems. The companies have successfully evolved by researching, sourcing and developing new products and technologies in an ever changing international market.
